Rita Müller is the director of the Museum der Arbeit (Museum of Work) which is part of the Stiftung Historische Museen Hamburg (historical museum foundation Hamburg), since 2014. Between the years 2008 and 2019, she was the spokesperson of the specialist group museum of historic technology of the German Museum Association. Since May 2018, she is the executive of the German Museum Association.
